Kids and Back Pain

People often think of back pain as an adult issue, and for a good reason. Children have more flexible muscles and healthier regenerative systems, while adults are plagued with stiff joints that are susceptible to damage. Only about one out of every four young athletes who participate in competitive sports will experience occasional back pain, and much of this will go away easily with rest.

Unfortunately, since back pain is not largely considered to be a problem for kids, many severe health issues go untreated in children. If your child’s back pain persists for more than two weeks, you should take this as a sign of something serious.
