Stretching for Good Joint Health

Your joints are a big part of our business at Nu Star’s chiropractic in Edmonds. We want you to take good care of these delicate structures so as to best assure your continued health and comfort into your latter years. Therefore, it is good to develop a habit of regular stretching exercises.

When you keep your muscles properly stretched, you’re allowing your joints to comfortably go through their full range of motions. This reduces the chance of injury. You should try to stretch on a daily basis, or at very least three times a week.

An important thing to remember when it comes to your stretching exercises is that you should not stretch cold muscles. Do a light warm up exercise before your stretches, like jogging or jumping jacks. The purpose of this is to loosen up your joints, tendons, and ligaments, allowing them to get the best of your stretches.
